Daniel Kahneman talks about there being two “selves” in all of us; The Experiencing Self, and The Remembering Self.
The Experiencing Self is approximately a 3 second window of what you feel right now. That part of you will change, inevitably, when you get to the end of this sentence.
The Remembering Self is the story teller. It picks up those thoughts from your Experiencing Self and tried to turn them into memories, although most of the time your Experiencing Self is too quick and they’re gone before you can remember them.
